Like many Singaporeans, I have a love-hate relationship with the new E-Bike (or PAB) regulations. The new law that requires all power-assisted bicycles to be registered is intended to improve the safety of park connector and road users. Luckily for you, we have made the registration process more convenient by taking you through the steps below.
First off, we will take you through the steps of registration if you currently own an e-bike WITH A VALID LTA SEAL.
Note: E-bikes with the blue LTA seal (old technical requirements) will have to be registered by 31 January 2018.
To register online: Log in to www.onemotoring.com e-services with your SingPass/CorpPass/EASY, PAB seal number and scanned copy of original identification documents.
To register at SingPost:Â Bring along your identification document (NRIC, FIN or ACRA), PAB seal number, and $50 registration fee.
*Register before 30 November 2017 to have the registration fee waived!
Upon successful registration, your e-bike will be assigned a registration number. With this, head on down to an approved signcraft shop within 3 calendar days to affix a license plate to the rear of your e-bike.
Get to know more about the number plates’ specifications here.
Now, if your e-bike DOES NOT have a valid LTA seal, you have to obtain the LTA approval seal.
You will need to bring along the relevant technical documents such as your Bill of Lading, the EN 15194 test certificate for your PAB, the purchase invoice etc.
Your e-bike will be inspected, and once approved, it will be affixed with an Orange LTA seal, and registered at the centre. A $50 registration fee, and other fees for inspection, approval, and affixing with LTA seal will apply.
Find the list of LTA-Authorised Inspection Centre here.
Before taking your e-bike to the Inspection center, ensure that it meets the following technical requirements below. You will need to obtain the relevant EN 15194 certification documents from your electric bike supplier or vendor.
Upon successful registration, your e-bike will be assigned a registration number. With this, head on down to an approved signcraft shop within 3 calendar days to affix a license plate to the rear of your e-bike.

Viola! By going through this simple process, you are well underway to help improve our path and road safety.
